I am an Assistant Professor of International Relations in the Political Science Department at California State University - Chico.
My primary research interests are in the fields of International Relations and International Law. Specifically, I focus on the processes and politics through which international law is made and used. To date I have spent most of my time investigating the politics of ratification.
In addition to researching international politics and law, I am co-authoring two different pedagogical studies. The first examines how students learn to write well, focusing on the Writer's Workshop as an underutilized method of writing instruction in the political science classroom. The second project examines the role of simulations in the classroom.
